Stinging nettle recipes
Stinging nettles are not only a great nutrient rich vegetable, but their fibers can also be used for textile production.
Harvest them by cutting the leaves and leave their stems because this way it will grow new leaves. It's said that they're best when harvested in spring because later in the year the leaves will contain calcium oxalate crystals and high amounts can cause kidney and bladder problems.
When you accidentally brush against the leaves and you're stung, pick a stinging nettle leaf and chew it a bit, then apply it to the area where you've been stung. The stinging will disappear in seconds. Or crush or chew some Plaintain and rub that on the area.
