Mesquite flour bread
A while ago when visiting Arizona, I bought a bag of Mesquite flour, made of the ground seeds of the mesquite tree. The flour is sweet and also tastes like chocolate.
Here is a nice bread/cake recipe that I found on food.com, I changed it just a little bit: Ingredients: 1 cup mesquite flour 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup self rising flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 3/4 cup water Directions: Combine dry ingredients. Add oil and water and mix until dough forms a ball and cleans the sides of the bowl. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Form the dough any way you like it Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. |
