Pine needle orange syrup
This great tasting syrup goes well with vanilla ice cream, over pancakes and in yogurt or thinned with water and used as a drink. Try it, it's delicious!
Pine needle orange syrup Thoroughly rinse a big handful of fresh pine needles and chop them finely. Grate a teaspoon of orange zest. In a saucepan, heat 1 cup of water with 2 cups of sugar. Stir to let sugar dissolve. Bring to a boil and then remove from heat. Immediately add the pine needles and orange zest and let steep covered overnight. Strain through a sieve covered with paper towel and store in the fridge. |
